All About Me!

Thirty years of writing songs has changed my life for the better in so many ways. Discovering my unique voice and expressing myself through this process has been a game changer.
I am still enamoured with the process of songwriting. I love how the tiniest spark of inspiration can be crafted into a work of art that can make someone smile, bring a tear to their eye or get them out on the dance floor. It's truly brilliant!
Although I've always loved listeneing to music, I did get a bit of a late start on my career as a songwriter. It wasn't until I was 10 years into a very different career, that I started paying attention to the 'nudge' inside, guiding me in the direction of writing songs.
I first learned to write songs in a band setting. Way back when, a group of four very good friends, enthusiatically set out to create and eventually record music without really knowing much about it! Krazy House/Big Love was together for about 10 years, writing, playing, touring across Canada and recording 3 full length CDs with producer extraordinaire J.Richard Hutt - (Cedartree Studio - CCMA producer of the year),
I still have all the notebooks from my very early attempts at writing songs. I have fond memories of what I think was my first 'real' song. It contained at least 6 verses and in my mind, I was convinced I had written the next "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald". Turns out that was not the case!
Since then, I've had the privilege of co-writing hundreds and hundreds of songs with dozens of artists and writers, placing almost 100 cuts on 25 different recordings!
I have been recognized for my songwriting over the years with the following accolades;
-
FACTOR - Songwriter Publishing Grant (5x)
-
NSAI - Recommended for Publishers Luncheon (4x)
-
NSAI - 'Ones to Watch' (7x)
-
Recipient of the ‘Big and Rich’ Scholarship - Berklee Online Program
I have also received a Professional Certificate in Lyric Writing from the Berklee Online Program.
